What Is a Pantone Color Chart?
A Pantone color chart is a reference of numbered colors from the Pantone Matching System, so designers, printers and brands can all point to the same color by its code. Each swatch has a name or number, such as PANTONE 485 C, and this chart pairs it with a HEX code for screens, RGB values for digital design and an estimated CMYK value for print planning. Click any swatch above to copy the code you need.
Not sure which Pantone matches your color? Use the Pantone color finder to match a HEX code, or the CMYK to Pantone converter to start from a print value.
How to Read a Pantone Color Code
A Pantone name has three parts. Once you know them, any chip on this chart is easy to read.
Fashion and home colors use a different style, such as 17-1230 TCX for Mocha Mousse. The Colors of the Year on this page use that style. Treat the number as the ID and the name as a label.
Pantone systems you will see most often

Pantone on Screen vs Pantone in Print
A Pantone color is a defined ink or textile color, so the HEX and RGB codes on this page are on-screen stand-ins for it.
On screen: HEX and RGB
Screens mix red, green and blue light. A HEX code such as #DA291C works well for websites and apps. Convert it with the HEX to RGB converter.
In print: CMYK or spot ink
Printers either use a Pantone spot ink or mix cyan, magenta, yellow and black. A four-color mix can look duller than the spot color. Learn more in our guide to RGB vs CMYK.
To turn a screen color into print values, try the RGB to CMYK converter. To go from print values back to a Pantone, use the CMYK to Pantone converter.
Tips for Using Pantone Colors
- Always include the suffix. PANTONE 485 C and PANTONE 485 U look different on paper, so tell your printer which one you mean.
- Use the chart for reference, not final approval. Screens vary, so check a physical Pantone guide before a large print run.
- Copy the format your tool needs. Use HEX for CSS, RGB for design software, and ask your printer for the official CMYK or spot-ink instruction.
- Save your brand colors in one place. Keep the Pantone code, HEX, RGB and CMYK together, and see our color chart with HEX, RGB and CMYK codes for more reference values.

About This Pantone Color Chart
Reviewed by: cmyk2pantone.com, last reviewed October 2026.
Method: the HEX values are widely published screen approximations of each Pantone color. RGB is an exact conversion of that HEX code. The CMYK value is a simple estimate calculated from RGB in your browser, and it is not an official Pantone print formula.
Limits: Pantone colors are physical ink and textile standards, so no screen value is an exact match. Screens also differ from one another. For critical print jobs, check a current Pantone guide.
Privacy: your searches and copied codes are not sent to a server or stored.

Pantone Color Chart FAQs
What is a Pantone color chart?
A Pantone color chart is a reference of numbered colors from the Pantone Matching System. Each color has a name or number, such as PANTONE 485 C, so designers, printers and brands can all refer to the same color. This chart also shows the HEX, RGB and estimated CMYK values for each color.
How do I find the HEX code of a Pantone color?
Search for the Pantone name or number in the chart above, then click the swatch to copy its HEX code. If you only have a HEX code and want the nearest Pantone, use the Pantone color finder.
Are the HEX and CMYK values on this chart official?
No. The HEX values are widely published screen approximations, and the CMYK values are estimates calculated from RGB. Pantone colors are physical standards, so for exact matching use an official Pantone guide or Pantone's own tools.
What do C, U and TCX mean in a Pantone code?
C means the color is printed on coated paper, and U means uncoated paper, so PANTONE 485 C and 485 U look slightly different. TCX is the style used for Pantone's fashion, home and interiors colors, such as 17-1230 TCX.
What is the Pantone Color of the Year for 2026?
The Pantone Color of the Year for 2026 is Cloud Dancer, PANTONE 11-4201, a soft white. This chart lists it with a copyable HEX code and RGB values.
Can I convert Pantone to CMYK exactly?
Not by formula. Pantone spot colors are special inks, and a four-color CMYK mix can only get close. For the closest CMYK build, check a Pantone Color Bridge guide, and use our Pantone to CMYK converter for a quick estimate.
Why does a Pantone color look different on screen than on paper?
Screens make color from light and paper reflects it, and screens differ in brightness and calibration. A screen can only approximate a printed Pantone ink. Read more in our guide to RGB vs CMYK.
How do I copy a color code from this chart?
Click any swatch to copy its code in the format you chose (HEX, RGB, CMYK estimate or Name). You can also click the HEX, RGB or CMYK buttons under a swatch, or use Copy visible list to copy every color currently shown.
